Sleepy John Estes was one of the most significant blues singers among those rediscovered in the ’60s. This album features an extensive collection of informal recordings Estes made at his home in Brownsville, Tennessee, in December 1972, both alone and with Hammie Nixon on harmonica and kazoo accompaniment. All tracks were digitally remastered from the original tapes in 2013. Editorial assistance by Corey Wetherington, Penn State University.
